Armenian coffee is very finely ground coffee brewed by boiling. The coffee grounds are left in the coffee when served. The coffee is drunk over conversation, and once finished the cup is turned over on the saucer.
The coffee grounds that settled to the bottom of the cup form pattens as they run down the walls of the cup. These patterns are interpreted by a cup reader to tell one's fortune.
